It’s critical to get the SKO Right … With a new, proven approach

An alternative to the traditional approach for executing a world-class, highly effective SKO, is to design an engaging and collaborative event that has individual sales teams who are developing their action plans to support the company’s goals and objectives.

Consider these ideas for a great SKO:

  • Create a succinct agenda that supports your objectives for the SKO

  • Ensure everyone is aligned with the company’s goals and strategies

  • Absolutely celebrate past successes

  • Share best practices that will motivate the sales teams and generate energy around the company’s offers and products

  • Design interactive sessions facilitated by sales leaders to develop their action plans and metrics for achieving the company’s goals. A possible format for the interactive sessions:

o Goals and key initiatives for this year

o Current realities impacting sales (positive and negative)

o Options to address realities and meet goals

o Action plans collaboratively developed by first-line managers and their teams, first-line managers committed to coaching their teams, with accountability, defined expectations, and metrics


Teams that develop their own accountability plans are much more likely to succeed!
